The size of the phone is perfect for my hands. The screen is beautiful in size and color. There is a single speaker 🔈 but it is loud though not stereo. The phone 📱 appears to be a very good device but for the following exceptions: If your previous phone 📱 had a fingerprint button 🔘 which has been your main means of signing on or if you are hoping to have a phone 📱 with that important feature, then you may be out of luck 🎲. The finger print button 🔘 which is located on the screen, do not work period, even when there are no screen protector on the device. The other thing is that the phone 📱 is advertised as 4G but by the phone’s info, it is a 2g/3G only. At this point I can’t speak as to the signal 📶 strength which is the main reason I purchased this phone 📱. If there is no improvement in this area over my old phone (when I go to work), I will be returning it. size of the phone is perfect for my hands. The screen is beautiful in size and color. I changed the screen protector and the finger print features was fairly receptive. Not great but it works. The reception is somewhat better than my older phone 📱 but still not as strong as other phones being used in the work place with the same Carrier. So am keeping the phone 📱.

So far, so great! I am in love with the A71!! The screen is awesome, it charges super fast and the battery life is superb! The camera takes great pics and the call quality is perfect. I posted some photos that I have taken to show the quality.

Phone came on time brand new, working great so far overall good mobile device.I would recommend to anyone who’s looking for a good mid range phone. Only issue is that its not showing 4G LTE. Its only showing LTE+ T.mobile advised me to wait 24hrs and see what happens so lets see..

At the time when I was looking to buy this phone, there wasn’t a lot of reviews for this phone except for the Samsung a51 (the little brother) and YouTube channels that got early access to this phone. Most all channels mention how the material, glastic, on the back of this mid tier phone felt cheap and wasn’t on par with the usual metal to glass build on flagship phones. I would have to disagree. To me it felt fine and even feels better to hold in my hand. YouTube channels also mention how big this thing is and because of that it was too bulky and big for comfort. To me (a small Filipino) the size of this phone wasn’t terrible to hold at all. I can handle the weight with ease without any discomfort even if I’m on it for long periods of time. It really isn’t that heavy. As for navigating the phone, I had to learn that I won’t be able to do one-handed on this beast. I don’t do one-handed operations on mobile devices, most of the time, anyway. But watching movies or shows with one hand is no problem. I was worried because when I first took a look it this thing, it was longer than most all phones I’ve seen as of yet, an exception to Sony’s newer flagship devices. The ‘punch hole’ or so they called it is at a better location than the previous iterations of the Samsung Galaxy series (S10, S10 Plus, S10e). The cameras on the back are protruding so laying it flat on a surface, camera down, is a big discouragement if you don’t plan on putting a case on it. As for quality it’s a much better camera than my previous Samsung Galaxy Halo. And it’s on par if not better than the iPhone X especially in low lighting. Selfie camera is super great but it doesn’t do well in lower lighting.Overall, I really do love this phone. It’s body to screen ratio is one of the best I’ve seen in the market (especially when it has the hole punch display). The bezels are barely there. The screen is great but could be brighter during sunny days. The Samsung Galaxy a71 is light weight and is packed full of features (like NFC so you can pay with your phone) and not to mention its 400$, half the price of a flagship phone that has these features. So if you are looking for a budget phone packed full of features and don’t mind it being ‘glastic’ then this is a phone for you!

I absolutely LOVE this phone! And to think I even CONSIDERED buying an Apple! In the bundle, I’ve noticed that the screen protector is already on ,which is really nice because I’d be struggling to put it on!Best phone I’ve ever brought!

After looking at many phones to replace my old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which was becoming problematic, I decided on this one. Even though it wasn’t like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, which my wife got for Christmas from Verizon which had a great deal going on, this phone to me was also a great deal because I only paid $355 for it. I have T-Mobile service and this phone works perfectly with my carrier. The description was accurate for it also. Plenty of internal memory 128gb, I have a 64gb micro sim in it, it’s also running Android 10. So far, so good! Big display, and I’m getting used to all the features that it offers. Nice camera also with lots of options. Battery life is one of the best features of this phone. 4500mAh, enough for the whole day and then some. I haven’t used the face recognition or the fingerprint reader yet, but don’t expect any problems with those anyway. Seems like I made the right choice! There’s nothing wrong with getting an international phone either. You shouldn’t be stuck having to get a phone from one of the US carriers, that limit your selection, and has you paying higher prices. Even though this phone is Samsung’s mid level «a» series, your saving a bunch of money and in my opinion, won’t even notice any differences. The only problem that I had, however, was that when I received the phone the shipping box wasn’t packed properly and when I opened the box, the phone was laying outside of it’s box and so were most of the accessories that it came with! I immediately contacted Amazon, and the customer rep fully understood my concern, and told me that for any reason I could return it within 1 month for a full refund. But in conclusion, I set it up, it works fine and I’m having a good time with it. Enjoy!! I read some of the other reviews posted, and can’t believe what some people have said. One review said that the phone is not 4G, it definitely is. Even if it doesn’t show a «4G» icon on top, it is. Mine says LTE or LTE+. If you google it, that is 4G. In another review, the person mentioned that the battery only lasts half a day and gets very hot. My phone lasts for about a day in a half and I have no issue with excessive heat. Again, for less than $400, you can’t go wrong.

I absolutely love this phone. I am on verizon and the phone works great. I have had no issues with calls or mobile data. I had the note 8 for two years and decided to upgrade to this phone. On one day, I had about 10 hours of screen on time before the phone died, and that was with about two hours of madden mobile. The only two things that made me give 4 stars and not five is the cameras are not quite as good as the note 8 in my opinion, and the fingerprint sensor doesnt always work, although I do like it being on the front and not the back.

  9. KLEE

I bought two of these phones. One for my wife and the other for myself. We were both upgrading from the iPhone 6. I got her the light blue one and myself the black one. The overall build of the phone is solid, and feels good in the hands. It is a pretty large phone compared to our iphone 6 so it took some getting used to the larger size. It came with a clear case and a pre-applied screen protector which was nice. Still bought an otterbox case for both our phones though since the case seems kind of cheap. We both use AT&T in the Dallas area and it works flawlessly. Wifi is great. Screen is great. Battery lasts for like 2 days and charges in about an hour! Everything about this phone is great. I haven’t taken any photos yet but my wife has and she loves it. Overall super pleased with these phones.

I’ve had this phone for about 4 weeks now. I buy a new phone about every year because I love new technology. But I think it’s ridiculous to spend $700 or more for a phone. So I try to find the best phone I can get for around $500 or less. Last year I bought the Pixel 3a. Truly the best camera on a phone for less than $500 and sometimes better than most flagships. But the Pixel 4a is too small and OnePlus has shunned their budget customers. So I had to search elsewhere. I came across the Galaxy A71 and was amazed at what you get for the money. Sad that Samsung chooses not to sell their best budget phones in the US. Thank goodness Amazon brings the best options from around the world to us! I must say that I am THOROUGHLY impressed with the A71! Excellent large screen and plenty of speed for everything that I do. I did a side by side comparison with the Pixel 3a camera and I must say that it often produces a better picture than the 3a! Better detail and better performance in harsh lighting situations. There are 2 areas where the Pixel 3a is better. 1) Since the 3a has OIS and the A71 does not, you have to hold the A71 much more steady than the 3a. And the 3a will produce a great picture almost every time while I sometimes have to take a second picture with the A71 in lower light. 2) The night mode is much better in the 3a. In low light the A71 night mode can sometimes produce a better picture. But in very low light the 3a wins hands down. The reason is that the 3a keeps the shutter open nearly 3-4 times longer in night mode than the A71. I know there are many reasons for this but the result is much better pictures for the 3a in very low light. But for 90% if the pictures I take, I can say that the A71 takes as good or better pictures than the 3a. – Overall I would highly recommend this phone! Just wish Samsung would sell it in the US instead of trying to get more money out of us for the A71 5G that we honestly don’t need right now!

I’ve had my phone for about a month now and am quite happy with it. I purchased it from Mobiles International, LLC, and had a flawless experience. I would use them again. I received a sealed, new phone that was packaged well.My phone, surprisingly, came with a clear, plastic case to protect it a little. I used it until I purchased a wallet case that I prefer, that protects the front and back as well as having a magnetic clip. I also purchased a clear, glass screen protector, so I hope I can get a long life from my phone. It comes with a C cable and wall charger. I purchased some USB to C cables to use with my car chargers and others that I previously had. The charge is quite quick and lasts a day or two with moderate use, depending on my location. I don’t normally watch movies or long videos.Pictures turn out clear and it’s easy to choose selections, but I’m still learning. It’s nice to have an expansion ability for a micro SD card to increase memory.I was unable to use my phone on Verizon/Total Wireless when I tried, but I didn’t pursue it very hard. I signed up with ATT prepaid and it’s working adequately, though I’m lacking a bit of coverage in rural areas. This isn’t too surprising and my monthly charge is very reasonable, so far.I have been looking at upgrading my phone for a long time and feel that this is the best value for my needs and wants. I’m very happy, so far, and recommend this phone and the vendor without reservation.I will update if I have more to add as time passes. Love it!

This phone arrived on time even with weather delays. It set up easily and transfered all my info from my old samsung phone. It is larger than expected tho and is hard to operate one handed if you have small hands but its still a solid phone just takes some adjustment. The finger print scanner can be a little slow at times but not unbearably slow. Would buy again.UPDATE: I have been using this phone for a month and it works really well I like it there have been no issues. But recently the phone has started to get hot to the touch both while its charging and if using it for an extended period of time like scrolling through social media, which makes me nervous. I would still recommend it but I would be cautious about it being too hot.

OMG, I have gone through about five phones this year, in my quest for the perfect device for me. We use our phones for so much: calling, texting, movies, surfing the internet, listening to music, taking photos, reading books, paying for things at the cash register, and so much more — it is the hub of our digital lives. Yet, I do not want to spend $1K on a new phone. This seems to be the best mid-range phone so far. I use Cricket, and it picks up all Cricket LTE signals well (which are At&t towers). It has NFC, so I can pay using contactless payments (especially important during this corona epidemic). The cameras are among the best in the price range, and compares to my much more expensive flagship phone (Huawei Mate 20 Pro); it is amazing how technology advances so quickly in a year. What is NOT to like about this phone: the face ID is useless; it rarely works!! I mean rarely. The fingerprint ID works MOST of the time; I would say 2 out of 3 attempts, and it is slow: the slowest onscreen fingerprint reader that I have used with this features over three other recent phones. Samsung is definitely finally addressing the mid-range market, and this is their best attempt so far. Although it is not speficially destined for the US market, it has all the bands for US GSM carriers (sorry, you’re out of luck with Verizon, Sprint, and other CDMA carriers — why do some carriers in the US use CDMA??? hardly no one in the world uses that). Anyways, I love the BIG 6.7 inch Super Amoled screen. The speakers are decently loud, too.

5/11/2020A little backstory: I’ve been a more frugal phone user for the past 10 years. I often found phones second-hand on craigslist, ebay, or letgo. I used to go after last year’s model and try to stick around $2-300 range, and lately that’s meant going after 2-year-old models. Since the vast majority of phones have gone to not easily replaceable batteries requiring the entire phone to be disassembled and risk breaking the tiny boards or connections, I had to look for something new since batteries on a 2 year old phone are pretty much shot.I’ve had my eye on the Samsung A-line of phones and ended up with this one. I started looking at the A11 and upsold myself all the way to the A71. Since I wasn’t able to handle any of the phones in person, I can only assume that I got caught up in the specifications and I could have been perfectly satisfied with any of the other ones I was looking at (A11, A21[not released yet], and A51). But, boy am I glad I upsold myself, I missed Samsung and their AMOLED screens.I originally planned on using this device on Verizon, as it states in another review that it does work with Verizon. There are a couple of caveats to that: You must have a pre-activated SIM card from them either from a BYOD prepaid, or buy a cheap phone on their pre- or post-paid plans and swap it into the phone. However, since the IMEI doesn’t match their records, wifi-calling and texting to not work because they cannot verify the device. Trying to register a SIM with them on their BYOD will not work as of 5/2/2020, but that may change because Verizon is going CDMA-less. This phone also lacks 2G/3G service bands for Verizon so it’s 4G or bust. That may work depending on where you use your phone the most, but for me it was better to transition to T-Mobile.On T-Mobile, this device works as it should and it does shine. I’m a new customer to them so I didn’t know what to expect, but for $25/mo for 5GB on their prepaid plan, I’d be silly not to try it. Tethering, wifi calling and texting, and the hotspot all work. Battery life so far is 3.5 days, but that’s with little use as it’s my second test line as of right now. I do fully expect to get 1.5 days of normal use between charges. (Also please note I checked the IMEI with T-Mobile and they told me this phone isn’t 100% compatible with their network too, but I didn’t run into any issues during normal use like I did with Verizon. Also this is technically a «South American market» phone, so it’s doubtful that any US carrier would certify it as 100% compatible)The phone itself was a little too slippery for me, as most of them are. I usually get cases for my phones and I did for this one too (see below). It’s pretty light considering the plastic back and frame, also the 4500mAH capacity battery. Charging is nice and fast, it took about 1.5 hours to go from 8% to full charging it today with the supplied charger. USB-C is the norm these days for android, so it was nice to see that included. I haven’t tried the FM radio, but the wireless range seems to be nice. Using Wifiman, an app from Ubiquiti I use during wireless troubleshooting and some basic wifi surveying, it reports a higher dBm than my previous LG V30, so the antenna design must be better in some respects. The stock camera app is nice, it lacks some of the frilly AR filters and silly doodads you see in the phone stores when they’re set to that demo mode or whatever. There is a gcam mod for this, just google it, that really brings the low-light pictures to life. I guess I’m addicted to NovaLauncher so I don’t really have anything to say about the stock UI experience, except the settings page is nicely re-worked and I like the layout. I missed the notification LED of the old Notes I used to have so I got aodNotify to serve as a replacement, I get a lot of use out of that.It doesn’t look like there is a whole lot of development going on with the A71 on XDA, however there is a root method already if you’re into that type of thing. It looks pretty straightforward but I did not try it myself. I don’t really know what you’d do with that beyond the normal apps that require root, as there doesn’t seem to be any other ROMs being actively developed for this phone.I paired this with some screen protectors (copy & paste ASIN to see on amazon) B082TY2VMN and B07Z8LXW6Y however I wouldn’t recommend the screen protectors for the screen because they are very very thick and impede the use of the in-screen fingerprint reader. I also picked up this case B07ZG3MZ6Y which seems to do the job well. I might spring for a traditional Commuter Otterbox if they make something other than the goofy one they have now. I never liked the thinner versions of their 2-piece designs, the rubber part always stretches out and distorts.Anyway, for this being the first actual new phone I’ve owned, I’m really happy with it. If you’re used to new phones it probably won’t dazzle you like it did me. But, I think it’s hard to come close on the actual value you get with this phone vs the flagships and their bloated prices. I briefly looked into the iPhone SE 2 or whatever, and to it’s credit it has a lot of power, but I’m not that into Apple and the battery life is abysmal. I read a bunch of articles trying to crown the A21 or A51 as the budget king, and I guess it is a matter of pricepoint, but this is like an S20 with a plastic body and an instant $500 rebate.BEWARE: I have come across some threads about this phone having some issues with the screen and low backlight settings on a gray background. I’ve also read a few threads about those problems being fixed. I DID NOT have any of those issues with my particular phone. I may be lucky, or I may have gotten a newer revision that fixed this issue. I wouldn’t feel right about writing this review without mentioning that, but given Amazon’s return policy I still purchased this with confidence that I could return it if it did come with a screen defect. Thanks for reading my long reflection on this phone.
