ORIGINAL REVIEW:Before I get into the memory voltage, the first thing you need to know is this board is massive overkill and you won’t get any more performance from using this board vs. using a board less than half the cost. The AMD Zen architecture just doesn’t use nearly the power that this board is capable of…….UNLESS you’re doing extreme overclocking with LN2 or something along those lines that allows for much higher power usage. For a normal everyday air or water cooled system you won’t use even half of what this board can provide. That being said, this is a luxury board. It has every bell and whistle you could imagine, and it looks amazing while doing it. There are other reviews that go into all the basics so I’ll spare you those details and get right to the point of my headline.I’m running a set of Ryzen certified Corsair LPX 16GB (8GB x 2) 3600Mhz C14 memory @ 1.45v. Upon changing the memory setting in BIOS from stock to XMP the clocks and timings change just like they are supposed to but the voltage remains unchanged, which makes the kit unstable. I tried it with the BIOS that the board shipped with, and also with the latest F20b BIOS and it happened with both. Memory voltage has to be manually entered when using an XMP profile which is very odd, I’ve never had a board do this before. It’s not really a big deal if you notice it, but if you don’t you could experience instability issues because your voltage won’t be high enough. Everything else about the board is great, no issues what so ever. I’m running a 3600XT oc’d to 4.525GHz all core @ 1.375v…….board doesn’t even realize it’s there. Temps stay nice and cool regardless of what I’m doing with it. Great board all together, just watch your memory voltage.I see several other negative reviews but keep in mind the dates that the reviews were written. Early on there were a lot of boards having issues just because they needed time to get all the quirks sorted out, which they seem to have done because I’m not experiencing any of those issues. My board is a rev 1.1 and so far (other than the weird memory voltage thing) not even one hiccup.UPDATE 8/29/20:Since my original review my rig has been running 24/7. I use it as a Plex server so it never turns off, and not one issue so far. In fact, Gigabyte has rectified the weird memory voltage issue with their latest F22 BIOS. Now when I set XMP Profile the memory voltage is actually correct so the one flaw I had in my original review is no longer a flaw. So far I’m loving the board and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to see what Zen 3 brings!!

This is what happens when you allow your engineering department free reign without consideration of cost. Over-engineered and overbuilt in every possible way. It comes in a clear two-piece ESD box rather than a ESD bag. Thermal armor on top, solid metal backplate underneath, it’s about twice as heavy as any other motherboard I’ve ever handled. Exceptional power delivery.A few gotchas for the novice builder: The center screw hole is hidden under the topmost M2 heatsink – install the board before installing the heatsink in order to have access. The power/reset/LED cables use a custom extension cable that plugs into the side of the board. The board is about an inch wider than usual, which will block the pass-thru grommets in many cases and can make the right-angled connectors hard to see/access once the board is installed – choose your case carefully.It came with F2 BIOS which is super buggy. Out of the box, only the USB ports driven directly from the CPU (the stack of 4 that includes the white BIOS port), work reliably in BIOS with the mouse freezing less than a second after it first moves when using ports downstream of the X570 chipset. It seems to be a CMOS configuration issue. A quick work-around is to unplug, clear CMOS, boot into BIOS, disable CSM, reboot into BIOS, enable CSM and load optimized defaults. I recommend flashing to at least F10 to get AMD AGESA 1.0.0.4 B before installing an OS, if only to get the fix for the RDRAND bug in Ryzen 3000 CPUs.Very expensive but you get what you pay for. One of the few X570 designs without a chipset fan. I’ve been running mine, 24/7 except for upgrades, for a couple of months without issue.

A fantastic motherboard. Just everything about it is great and worth the expense, but admittedly very expensive. If you’re buying this then you already know why you want it. If not, don’t get it.

Best 570 board out there. Has all the connection you’ll need. It is perfect for the Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL. It has 2 connections for USB 3.0. It looks sleek & is well built. The fan commander was an added bonus

ORIGINAL REVIEW:Before I get into the memory voltage, the first thing you need to know is this board is massive overkill and you won’t get any more performance from using this board vs. using a board less than half the cost. The AMD Zen architecture just doesn’t use nearly the power that this board is capable of…….UNLESS you’re doing extreme overclocking with LN2 or something along those lines that allows for much higher power usage. For a normal everyday air or water cooled system you won’t use even half of what this board can provide. That being said, this is a luxury board. It has every bell and whistle you could imagine, and it looks amazing while doing it. There are other reviews that go into all the basics so I’ll spare you those details and get right to the point of my headline.I’m running a set of Ryzen certified Corsair LPX 16GB (8GB x 2) 3600Mhz C14 memory @ 1.45v. Upon changing the memory setting in BIOS from stock to XMP the clocks and timings change just like they are supposed to but the voltage remains unchanged, which makes the kit unstable. I tried it with the BIOS that the board shipped with, and also with the latest F20b BIOS and it happened with both. Memory voltage has to be manually entered when using an XMP profile which is very odd, I’ve never had a board do this before. It’s not really a big deal if you notice it, but if you don’t you could experience instability issues because your voltage won’t be high enough. Everything else about the board is great, no issues what so ever. I’m running a 3600XT oc’d to 4.525GHz all core @ 1.375v…….board doesn’t even realize it’s there. Temps stay nice and cool regardless of what I’m doing with it. Great board all together, just watch your memory voltage.I see several other negative reviews but keep in mind the dates that the reviews were written.
